I spent 9 years 5 months 23 days in the Military (but who’s counting?) I was a Viet Nam era WAC (Women’s Army Corps, which makes me either a living fossil or a genuine antique), Instructor Qualified, Company Clerk, Personnel Sergeant. Later, I served six years in the Washington Air National Guard as a Drafter/Illustrator and then as a Chapel Manager.
I retired from The Boeing Company (yes, The is capitalized) where I worked as a Technical Illustrator, an Author/Editor, and a Software Process Analyst.
I have two adult children and a spoiled rescue dog. I supported my mother and my uncle through their deaths by cancer and my Elder Brother of Choice through his death by ALS.
My spare time is spent reading a variety of genres ranging from poetry to urban fantasy and cozy mysteries. If I’m reading fiction, it must have a happy ending. When I’m not reading, I’m often writing short stories or poetry (I’ve quit working on novels, the return on investment doesn’t make them practical), or quilting. I’ve pretty much given up working on big quilts and try to keep my quilting to what I call “wee quilts”—table toppers and or wall hangings. I also collect – and now and then share – shaggy dog stories.
My current bio (subject to change at a moment’s notice) reads: “Lenora Rain-Lee Good is a Walla Walla sweet onion. Peel a fleshy leaf and you may laugh, the next and you may cry, and then laugh some more. She also tells stories, both real and imagined, like segments of a perfect Texas Pink Grapefruit giving a sweet tartness in every read.”
Coffee Break Escapes is my weekly blog I try to keep short enough one can read it on a coffee break.
